Higgidy – Beauty of Imperfection

Weekends to me, call for comfort food. Lazy lunches grazing and catching up on the past week. Sometimes I cook and create during my days off, some days I want to unwind and opt for convenient options. I believe in the 80/20 rule, sometimes it’s better to let someone else do the hard work, so you can enjoy some quality time with your loved ones. I needed convenience this weekend, and Higgidy came to the rescue.

Higgidy (so-called because the best things in life are a little higgidy) believe in the beauty of imperfection.
They (and I) believe that ‘perfect’ has it’s place, but the best food always looks a bit ‘Higgidy’. That’s why each of their pies looks a little different from its neighbour. I am drawn to imperfect things, wonky veg, mismatched pottery created by hands, rather than a machine. What imperfect things do you like?

The new packaging is a treat for the eyes, featuring illustrations that are inspired by an eclectic collection of ceramics. Their vibrant and arty designs can now be spotted on shelves in Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, the Co-op, Booths, Budgens, Boots, Tesco, Asda and other participating stores.

What’s your Higgidy pie? Having tried a few, I have to say their Cauliflower Cheese Pie with Oat Crumble is a winner for me. It’s also National Pie Week this week, have you been enjoying some much-loved pie?!
